At 19, I felt called to help people. Not many know what their purpose is at 19, but my formative years led to a deep understanding of the importance of having people there to listen and offer support.
I followed that purpose and served as a pastor, a caregiver for an ailing family member, and caring for those who had lost loved ones while working at a funeral home.
